Recognising Efforts of Power Generating Utilities with WATER OPTIMISATION AWARDS

Over the years, Mission Energy Foundation has honored hundreds of innovative developments and solutions for excellence and sustainability among utilities, small or large, who have demonstrated their efforts and won Water Optimisation Awards.

BRIEF BACKGROUND

Water is an essential resource for India's power generation sector, supporting critical operations across thermal power plants, captive power plants and associated industrial facilities. As demand for electricity grows and water resources face increasing pressure, efficient water management has become an important operational priority for the energy industry. Optimising water consumption, strengthening recycling and reuse practices, reducing freshwater dependence, and adopting innovative technologies can contribute to more sustainable and resource-efficient power generation. Equally important is recognising organisations that have demonstrated measurable improvements, implemented successful initiatives and developed solutions with the potential to benefit the wider industry.

WATER OPTIMISATION 2027 – 8th Annual Residential Conference & Awards, organised by Mission Energy Foundation, aims to bring together power generation utilities, captive power plants, technology providers, industry leaders and other stakeholders on a common platform to recognise achievements and encourage the wider adoption of effective water-management practices. Through industry recognition, knowledge exchange and interactive discussions, the platform seeks to showcase successful initiatives, highlight emerging solutions and encourage collaboration between utilities and technology innovators. The Awards will provide an opportunity for organisations to present their achievements, share practical experiences and contribute to advancing water security across India's power generation sector. The event will be held from 19–21 January 2027 at Stone Wood Resorts, Goa, in a residential format designed to encourage meaningful interaction, professional networking and industry engagement.

WHY FOCUSED CONFERENCE ON WATER OPTIMISATION?

Water is a critical resource in thermal power generation, supporting cooling systems, steam generation, ash handling and other essential plant operations. With increasing pressure on water resources, rising operational demands and the need for more efficient resource utilisation, water optimisation has become an important area of focus for India's power generation industry.

Unlike general water-management forums, WATER OPTIMISATION 2027 focuses specifically on the challenges, achievements and opportunities relevant to thermal power plants and captive power plants. It provides a dedicated platform for power generators to showcase their initiatives, exchange practical experiences and engage with technology providers developing solutions for efficient water use.

The conference recognises that every utility has a different operating environment, technology configuration and water-management strategy. By bringing together industry leaders, plant operators, technology innovators and government representatives, the platform aims to highlight successful practices, encourage measurable improvements and promote solutions that can be adapted across the sector.

A dedicated platform to:

- Recognise Industry Achievements: Showcase utilities that demonstrate strong water performance, meaningful improvements and successful implementation of water-optimisation initiatives.
- Share Proven Practices: Exchange operational experiences, innovative approaches and practical solutions from across the power generation sector.
- Explore Technology Solutions: Understand advances in water recycling, reuse, cooling-system optimisation, wastewater treatment and monitoring.
-Encourage Industry Collaboration: Connect power generators with technology providers, solution developers and industry experts.
- Advance Water Security: Promote responsible water management and support the transition towards more resource-efficient power generation.

WATER OPTIMISATION 2027 – 8th Annual Residential Conference & Awards brings recognition and knowledge exchange together, creating an opportunity for the power generation industry to celebrate achievements, learn from successful initiatives and advance water optimisation across India's thermal power ecosystem.

WATER OPTIMIDATION AWARDS

Recognising Excellence. Advancing Water Security.

The Water Optimisation Awards 2027, presented by Mission Energy Foundation, aim to recognise and celebrate organisations that demonstrate excellence, innovation and commitment towards responsible water management in India's power generation sector.

Water plays a vital role in thermal power generation, from cooling systems and steam generation to ash handling and other plant operations. Recognising organisations that optimise water consumption, improve recycling and reuse, implement innovative technologies and achieve meaningful operational improvements is essential to advancing water security across the industry.

The Awards provide a platform for Thermal Power Plants (TPPs), Captive Power Plants (CPPs) and technology innovators to showcase their achievements, share successful initiatives and demonstrate their contributions towards efficient and sustainable water management.

Who Can Participate?

Thermal power generating utilities, including public and private sector operators.
Captive power plants across industrial sectors.
Water treatment, recycling and wastewater-management technology providers.
Engineering, procurement and construction companies.
