Important Facts.....

  • 75% of India's total power generation capacity is via thermal Coal based power generation is nearly 90% and         diesel, wind, gas steam adding to about 10%

  • High ash content is found to be in range of 30% to 50% in Indian coal

  • Nearly 200 million tones of fly ash is being generated annually in India and more than 65 thousand acres of land is presently  occupied by ash ponds

  • 10% ash is utilized in ash dyke construction and land filling and only  about 3% of ash is utilized in other construction industry

  • 80% or more fly ash used in developed countries for the manufacture of  bricks, cellular concrete  blocks, road construction, land fill application, ceramics, agriculture, insulating bricks, recovery of metals, cenospheres and dam constructions
From intense research and industry interactions by Mission Energy Foundation & Abhijeet Group; who are further glad to present Flyash Utilization 2011, the International conference to meet and discuss the science and applications and transfer knowledge and ideas that will benefit their innovative utilization, handling, storage and disposal of fly ash.

The International conference Flyash Utilization 2011; is the premier conference concerning the science, applications and sustainability of fly ash utilization. The conference will take place on 24th & 25th November 2011 at NDCC Convention Centre, New Delhi. It will encompass all aspects of coal combustion products / byproducts and represent an important and growing industry. Coal combustion products (CCPs) include fly ash, flue gas desulfurization materials, boiler slag and other materials that are finding increased application in the construction, road paving, and building trades. Today, this use represents a multi-billion dollar industry in the U.S., including markets for lightweight aggregate, high-strength pozzolans, wallboard, polymeric filler, cinder blocks, tile, and variety of other construction products. The re-use of these materials also contributes to improved environmental quality and sustainable development in our country.

The industry will be challenged as utilities strive to meet environmental standards. Consequences for flyash utilization will include a large increase in the amount of FGD gypsum, mercury-laden activated carbons in the flyash, and a change in flyash composition as utilities change fuel supplies in response to new environmental controls.
Conference Objective

The objectives of the International conference Flyash Utilization 2011 is to provide a forum for fly ash producers and potential users along with policy-makers along with other stakeholders to discuss opportunities for better utilization of fly ash along with challenges that need resolution. The conference will also provide an opportunity to showcase new technologies and solution for better utilization of fly ash.
